Gwynne's Story
I attended Emory at Oxford for 2 semesters & then dropped out due to family issues. I joined the Navy in 1982 & worked as a Hospital Corpsman for 6 years. After I got out I went to school and became an electronics technician & worked in the computer field for several years doing everything from purchasing, building, repairing, installations, & sales. I moved to Florida about 14 years ago & worked as a manager for ExxonMobil until my husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. At that point I needed to reevaluate where we were headed & got my CDL license & drove a cement mixer for a year, working for a large company called Cemex. During that time I decided that I wanted to go back to college and pursue a Masters Degree in Science with the ultimate goal of becoming a Physicians Assistant. enter PA school & finishing the last requirements of my BA.
My Dad is my inspiration. He is the son of a welder who did not want him to attend college. His dad said, "don't waste your time & my money" He did it any way, working two and three jobs at a time while attending school & became a successful, much loved & repected OB/GYN.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen & the lving room and add on an enclosed porch to the front & back of the house. My dream home would be right here, with another one up north in the mountians.
If I won $100 million, I'd give a LOT of it to Parkinson's Research, then spend the rest on getting my doctorate, pilot's license, traveling with my husband and father, and doing research & pottery.
I'm a blue jeans and t-shirt kind of person. Once in a while....like maybe New Years Eve I like to dress up.
