Hal's Story
Life
Gosh people ! I am amazed of the number of hits to my profile here on Classmates. With the count heading up near the 1200 mark I guess many of my classmates remember me. I hope most were good memories. But there are those I would like to say I'm sorry for the torment and or pain I caused. You know who you are and I'm truly sorry. For those I stood up for and not let others push around, no thanks was ever expected. I just didn't take crap from anyone. If needed I still want to be that same guy who makes the right choice. Fear is not an option ! Soon after HS I worked 8 years for Halmar Electronics on the west side. Halmar sold out to another company and one year to the day later I found myself without a job for the 1st time in my life. This was a tuff time for me, but within a very short time I starting a new job with a company also on the west side. Not only was I back on my feet, but back with a job I quickly came to love with a pay rate that made a big differance quickly. With the job skills aquired from these two jobs would provide the needed skills to get my foot in the door of a Fortune 200 Company and would change my life forever and help me grow as a person and advance into management. Through my work experances I found there are two kinds of boss's. One who uses fear as a tool to get things done and one who leads by example to get the same results. I choose to lead by example and have the respect of my people. I never respected a boss that used the fear tatic leadership. My job with Batesville Casket took us from Ohio to Florida for nearly fourteen years and then to Alabama where I am living at this time.

ss at several Ohio tracks one being Honda Hills. But my true love was the Harley Davidson. In a short period I went forom a new 1977 Sportster that I made a few minor changes to fit my taste. New and wider rear rim with new Contintal tires front and rear, dual shotgun pipes so she had that full Harley sound, S&S Super carb that loved wide open and was jetted just perfect for the stock top end w/ stock spark plugs, stock silver paint with Harley Davidson in red, six inch over tubes that sat perfect with just a bit of custom rake to set level, new out the box Harley King & Queen seat with Harley Padded sissy bar, Highway bars and one hoaky Harley Davidson Lisence Plate Alarm System. If I told you what I paid for this bike and all the extras alltogether Brand new bike with 3 miles and everything else new in the boxes you would call me a liar. then when I told you how much I borrowed from the bank to buy it and still had enough cash left to also buy the S&S carb new in the box and a new Brooks all leather motorcycle jacket, Harley Brand Winter gloves, a leather Harley Davidson MC style hat and the baddest ass MC Belt to ever hold a pair of my pants up... I miss that belt more than I miss the bike.. Never seen one like it. Close but no cookie. If I were to tell you I picked up all these things and told you the borrowed bank money covered this and I still had money to burn You would surley think this was a fish story and no way. BUT IT IS AND WAS TRUE !!! I had been looking at Sportsters at A.D. Farrow HD for some time and just getting near the end of rideing season Farrow was getting $3,450.00 for a stock Sportster. In the Columbus Dispatch I saw an ad for a going out of bussiness sale at Parkersburg Harley Davidson in W.V. New Sportster's $1899.00 plus $3 for a temp tag. All new parts and clothing 50-70% off.
Sooner or later I'll be back with the rest of the story
