Harold's Story
Life
After high school, I traveled a lot and lived in my car for a while. I held many different jobs, working my way through college. I eventually got a degree in engineering from MU.
I am currently a structural engineer for Black & Veatch specializing in earthquake engineering and blast engineering. I have been involved in some unique projects. I worked on anti-terrorist work for the US Army in Germany, and was on Shemya Island, AK on Sept 11, 2001 (1500 miles as the C-130 flies from Anchorage). I travel a lot now, but it is different at an altitude of 35,000 feet.

he way, I got married, had 3 children, and divorced in 2002. Now I am what they call the custodial parent, raising 3 kids by myself. Anti-terrorist work is easier. It is kind of like "Mr. Mom" meets "The Bourne Identity".
I also serve on the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Team Task Force 1 as a structural specialist. The training is rigorous, but I enjoy it.
My daughter is the oldest, and starts college soon. My older son starts college in 2008, and my youngest son starts in 2011. In the spring we fish (mostly for trout). We also hunt spring turkey, and deer in the fall.
