Harry's Story
Life
I graduated from Ryerson in 1984 with a degree in Applied Computer Science. Didn't find a job right away in my field, so I worked for McDonnell Douglas for a year to make some cash and buy a car (they sent me to California for a stint so that was pretty good!!). Started as an Entry Level Programmer with Woolworth Corporation and worked my way up to a Systems Analyst position in 6 years. Then a position became available as an Information Systems Auditor within Woolworth's, and I got the job and reported to Corporate Head Office in New York out of Toronto. This allowed me to travel worldwide for 3.5 years. In the meantime I got married and we had a daughter, so the travel wasn't so attractive anymore!! Ended up taking a Sr. Systems Auditor position with Canadian Tire, and have been with them for over 15 years in various roles (as of Aug. 2009). tion. Just before Christmas 2004 I accepted a position within the Foundation For Families of Canadian Tire. I will be working across Ontario to help underprivileged kids get involved in sports through our new signature program, Jumpstart. We still live in Orangeville and will probably never leave!! I have been married for 22 years (as of 2009) and have a 16 year old daughter.
