Over 30 years of diverse national/international management experience, with extensive expertise in both the commercial energy and governmental sectors. An expert in petrochemical and nuclear security, vulnerability analysis and risk management; accomplished practitioner in facility survey, risk assessment, security program management, administration, training, and policy/procedure development. Has a comprehensive knowledge of protection allocation, intelligence analysis, personnel surety, computer security, and intrusion detection systems. Is an internationally recognized authority and author on risk assessment, emergency response, crisis management, incident mitigation, and countermeasures planning. Has conducted dozens of Security Vulnerability Assessments for AcuTech, over 100 hydrocarbons / chemical facility safeguards and security risk assessments for ExxonMobil, and more than 150 DOE/DoD critical facility risk assessments. Supported development of the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS), and is coauthor/developer of multiple government and industry risk assessment methodologies; working with Sandia National Laboratory, the American Chemistry Council, the Center of Chemical Process Safety, the American Petroleum Institute, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Holds US security clearances, a Masters Degree in Communication, Doctoral studies in Psychology, and is CVI certified. A widely traveled, chef, equestrian, sometimes poet, and lifetime student who is a happily married father/step-father of 7 and grandfather of 7 (and counting).
