He later attended London Teachers' College and The University of Western Ontario (now Western University). While in his final year at Western, he was excited to play the role of Sir Lancelot, in the Purple Patches production of Camelot. He taught in Owen Sound, and then in Holland Township and then moved to Etobicoke to teach, in order to be closer to the Royal Conservatory of Music where he was approaching the goal of achieving his ARCT degree in singing (Performer and Teacher).

of Montreal. In the business world he had more time to pursue his interests in music and theatre. He directed and gained experience in conducting first with The Owen Sound Barbershoppers and then, in the Toronto area, where he worked on stage with The Yorkminstrels performing many chorus and minor roles before moving into choral conducting and musical direction. He took over direction of a choral group which was an offshoot of Th Yorkminstrels and conducted them for seventeen years and and also directed the Toronto Police Association Male Chorus for twenty-seven years until the group's demise in September 2013.
He is currently in negotiation to assume direction of the Durham Region Police Choir.
