Harry's Story
Life
Out of high school I worked in the woods with my brothers planting trees and running a crew of planters all over the Pacific Northwest. Then went to truck driving school and became a long haul driver. Over the next 4 years I owned and operated two trucks that ran 24/7, 27 days a month. I have been in every one of the continental United States. In '89 I married an old high school friend Mary Cook. She had gone to Mill City High School and called me out of the blue one day and we have not been apart since. Also in ÃÂ89 I quit the road and went to work for Young and Morgan Trucking in Lyons driving then dispatching their trucks. On a cold January day in '96 I must have snapped. I had flown to Phoenix to visit my brother. I got on the plane in Oregon with 38ð and rain and two hours later got off in Phoenix with 75ð and sunshine! After spending the weekend in Paradise I was sold. I got back to Oregon Sunday night it was 35ð and still raining at this point I told Mary and the girls we were moving to Arizona. They were all very supportive. In March Mary and I flew down on a Thursday. We looked at Schools on Friday, Saturday we hooked up with a realtor and looked at homes, Sunday we signed a contract to build a new home, at 9 o'clock on Monday morning we were at the interior decorators office picking out colors, carpeting, and tile then caught our flight back by to Oregon. We logged, subdivided and sold our property out of Sublimity and headed for Phoenix. I ran truck here for the first four years while going to night school for computer network administration. In '01 after 18 years behind the wheel of a truck I quit and went to work for a local power company. I have been there ever since. I am a Senior Construction Project Manager. I work with builders, architects, general contractors, municipalities, and homeowners when they build or remodel a home, office, apartment complex, 80,000 square foot mansion, or just about anything else that requires power. I insure that we as a power...Expand for more
company can provide them with safe and sufficient power for their needs. Mary and I have been married coming up on 27 years in August of 16. We have had our ups and downs but that being said I would not change a thing. She is a great mom and has been a great life partner. We have four beautiful daughters. When we married I inherited my first two daughters Gianna 7, and Rosy 5. Ten months later Annie was born, another two years and along came Kirstie. I am so proud of all my girls. From day one all these girls were part of one family and to this day if you cross one of them you have crossed them all. Gianna is now 34, a partner in an internet pharmaceutical company and is still working diligently with her college courses. Rosy is 32, is the mother of our first grandchild Lilith Jade. We have raised Lilith since she was 5 months old and we are now starting to transition her back to her mom again. Our next daughter is Annie; she is 25 and has volunteered at a local horse ranch for special needs children. She loves horses and has found that this is a good way to help people and be around the animals she loves. Lastly is our youngest Kirstie, she is 23 and has been the best aunt ever to her niece. The two of them are like inseparable ÃÂsistersÃÂ I am very proud of the way she takes care of her niece. Okay what do we do for fun? Well we hang as a family. That is something I think about and feel really good about. Even with the older girls out of the house they are still around all the time. We have always loved to go camping and spend time at the lake. After 20 years away from Oregon we finally made it back in the summer of ÃÂ05. The last two summers we had taken a 3 week vacations and pulled a 23ÃÂ travel trailer up to Detroit Lake State Park. We make home base there in the park and visit friends and family and just kick back and relax. We do miss the Fir trees and the lake. I Would love to hear from anyone to see where lives path has taken you. harryoneill at hot mail is my addres
