Harry's Story
Life
Living in Detroit past 30 years. Married for 40 years with adopted girls in their mid 20's. One is a multimedia reporter with the ABC station in Brownsville, TX. One graduated from Mount Holyoke and is now a manager in the patient records software department at Johns Hopkins. The third is Williston ND working in the communications department of a local hospital and the mother of a new baby girl. I am doing principal investing and have acquired four companies, with partners, in the last 2 years. A defense contractor in New Hampshire, two large Coldwell Banker franchises and a title company in MI. Also I am on Facebook and Linkedin. Have lymphoma but have been progression free for 10 years. Still working hard and travelling extensively. Before Detroit I spent 9 years in Chicago on the faculty of the University of Chicago as an economist. Got a Phd from UCLA. ertarians. We met at an economics conference that she was covering for the WSJ. Our common interest was monetary policy.
We lived in a historic district in inner city Detroit but moved to New Hampshire a year ago to work on the company we acquired there. We are selling our Detroit home and have purchased a home in Grosse Pointe Farms where we stay when working on our Detroit area companies and visiting family. I collect various niche china and glass, do photography, have a couple of boats including a 31 Betram on the Detroit river, do a lot of cooking, continue to read economics and policy books, do some public speaking at industry events, have quite a few visitors mostly from grad school at UCLA, collect new oriental rugs made with traditional methods, collect mid century funiture, garden, spend time with my daughters and their friends and am active in our neighbourhood association.
