Darlene's Story
I went to nursing school in St. Louis and got married, had 3 children. After 12 years of a bad marriage, I was divorced, went back to college and studied Business Administration. I worked at St L Univ School of Medicine and a grant project for many years. I stayed in the medical admin field until I met my current husband. Together, we started our own food manufacturing business, first factory in Illinois, and a second factory near St Louis. Ray and I have had a wonderful life together for the past 21 years. d our factory to a large corp and happily retired. We stay in Florida in the winter and Lake of the Ozarks in the summer. We have tons of hobbies, especially golfing, travel, boating.
I was an orphan, adopted at age 10, and recently completed the pieces of my young life's puzzle. I have met my siblings and other relatives and know my story - this has given me a lot of satisfaction, just knowing what happened and finally realizing how fortunate I was to be the only one of 17 children who were placed in a good family.
