Bye Bye Fort Lauderdale!
Hello New Orleans! After (almost to the day) 8 incredible years in South Florida, the children and I have been here since December 07 and Robb has been here since October 06, so he's a great tour guide! It's full of really nice people and lots of fun. Mardi Gras ROCKS!We love touring the plantations on the Mississippi river and the historic homes in the garden district. We still haven't been on a trolley or riverboat, but anxiously awaiting the experience with the kids. Just waiting for this 105 heat index to subside.
We have met some amazing people in our short time here. It's tragic to see and hear what people have endured...and are STILL going through...since Wilma hit. Everyone has such inspiring storie...Expand for more
s of survival and spirit. I never imagined to see entire shopping malls leveled and miles and miles of neighborhoods still destroyed and abandoned, with so little progress nearly three years later. I encourage everyone to educate themselves and make a difference by rebuilding a city that is a cornerstone in american history. It makes us treasure what we have even more. We miss the palm trees but thrilled to be living in the same state again after 14 long months apart. Hopefully Robb will never get transferred any time in the near future. His golf tournament (Zurich Classic) went really well this year. He woked so hard for his success and still managed to raise two incredible children and a very happy wife! We're so proud of him!
