Heather's Story
Life
Hey everyone...I guess I can start by saying that I am married. Me and my husband will be celebrating our eleven year anniversary this October. I think that is pretty cool considering I never thought I would ever get married. We have a lil girl who is 18 mos old, Jennifer Fay. Geesh, so much has happened over the past 13 years, I don't even know where to begin. I moved out of Huntsville in 1994. I have lived pretty much all over the southeast, from Florida to North Carolina. My husband is in the Military, so that explains all of the moving that we have to do. I volunteer alot and of course having the lil monster keeps me very busy, lol. I haven't really kept in touch with anyone since graduation, but if any one wants to hit me up some time, feel free to do so. :)
I hope all is well with all of you!
Take care,
H
School
I have to say that my favorite time from high school was my Junior year, when me and Selena Beavers used to skip history class to go running around the school goofing off. I will never forget Coach Walton...he let us get by with it. But I will always remember him saying "I don't care if you cheat and skip class...but you will pay for it later on"... And boy did I ever. In college, I felt like an idiot when it came to American History. All I could think about was how right Coach Walton was. But all in all, I wouldn't change a thing. That junior year was a blast! LOL :)
(yeah, okay....my senior year was alright too...I guess, lol)

College
I started college at Southern Union in Opelika, Alabama. I attended there while my hubby was finishing up his degree at Auburn. Those four years down there were great. I don't know how we did it. We were the typical college students. Barely making ends meet...living off of Ramen noodles....partying after work....Living in one of Auburns many trailer parks...meeting a bunch of new and crazy people....IT WAS GREAT!! Besides all of ...Expand for more
that is what makes college college. Well, anyways, he graduated in 2000, and joined the Army, so I had to wait and finish up my degree in North Carolina (once we got settled in there). So all in all...it took me six years to get my Associates....LOL!! ;)

Workplace
Well, lets see here...I started working at Cracker Barrel the year following my high school graduation and stayed with them on through to Auburn. I then got a job at a little "mom & pop" joint. And then down in Pensacola Florida I worked at the Crowne Plaza hotel...which was great. It was right near the beach, and all the bands and famous people that came through Pensacola stayed there, so that was pretty cool.
After my husband joined the Army, my main focus was finishing school...So I did a lot of volunteer work for the military and was on the Community Counsel as Assistant Mayor. I did that for a few years...and like I said before, a month after I finally graduated college, I found out that I was pregnant. So my full time job now is being a Mom. It is the hardest, but most fulfilling job that I have ever had! :)

Military
Well, I am not in the military, but my husband is. I am a big supporter of the troops and their families. I know how hard it is being a military wife and I see how difficult it is to be a soldier.
My husband was with the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg for four years. He served in Iraqi Freedom at the very beginning of the war. That was a very difficult time. He did his boot camp in Fort Benning and AIT at Fort Gordon. He re-enlisted this past year and changed his MOS so that sent us back to Fort Gordon. He is now serving a year in Korea. When he gets home, we are supposed to be stationed at Fort Stewart...but you never know with the Army.
Anyways, I have alot of respect for our troops and their families! If any one else is in the Army, drop me a line sometime. We can share military stories, lol. :)
