Update:
Happy Holidays from the Great Northwest!... or should I say the deep freeze? As many of you may have heard, Oregon got hit by snow and a deep freeze. It looks like we may have a white Christmas. This year my family will be here to celebrate Christmas with us. I had promised them warmer weather and hoped for no rain. Maybe next year will be different in Texas. Sorry Brian and gang!
This year flew by quickly. Jake and Joey kept us busy with spring and fall baseball and fall football. For the first time ever they both are not playing a winter sport. Thank goodness! We can actually relax and enjoy each other¿s time between piano and guitar practice.
Keith and I are doing well. Keith has stayed busy with traveling and coaching baseball. His spring baseball team was undefeated and went to the first round of State Championship. I truly enjoy watching him in action. Keith has a way to turn boys who have never played baseball into to ball players. He is positive, calm and can communicate well with even the most challenging. Yes, his patience was tried. I am in aw of him.
As for me, many of you know that I went back to teaching. This is my second year back teaching Special Education. This year I am at a new school. I had hopped to be at the same scho...Expand for more
ol as last year however it wasn¿t meant to be. God had other plans. I am at a much smaller school district and am working with a great team of teachers and staff. Though some days are very challenging, I can¿t imagine doing anything else. I am truly blessed. At first, I wasn¿t sure why God had chosen this job for me. Recently His reasons became very clear. You see, there is a student that can be challenging and people have given up on him. After years of this, he had given up on himself as well. Through God and our incredible team, we have finally reached the ¿unreachable¿. This student is gaining confidence in him self and learning has begun. God is great! I continue to be amazed of what He can do.
Many of you may know I love contemporary Christian music. One of my favorite groups is Casting Crowns. They have a song that I listen to when ever I become frustrated have doubt in myself and when life throws me a curve ball. When you have a chance, for ¿kicks and grins¿, listen to ¿Voice of Truth.¿ It is a very powerful song. May you listen to it with an open mind and ¿choose to listen to the voice of truth.¿ I pray that this year will be a wonderful year filled with peace, love, hope and joy.
Christmas Blessings to all,
Heather, Keith, Jake & Joey Brookhouse
