Heather's Story
Life
I graduated UCONN in 1998, then I went to Southern to get my Master's Degree in teaching. I taught for eight years in New Haven and I loved it! But I recently transferred to Derby and it's great to be so close to home.
I decided to keep continuing my own education, and after graduating from Southern again, this time with a Sixth Year Classroom Specialist Degree, I decided to go apply to the University of Bridgeport for another sixth year degree, this time in administration. My husband and I bought my parent's house on the farm last year. We got married on June 28th of 2003 and had a wonderful honeymoon in Brazil. Hope all is well with everyone!

At UCONN, I double-majored in History and Sociology, with a minor in Women's S...Expand for more
tudies...actually had the W.S. as a major, but it got too radical(ie G.I. Joe is evil...I mean, come on!) so I dropped it my senior year and took on Sociology as another major.
Decided to be a teacher, went to Southern following graduation. Got my certification and Master's Degree in elementary education there a few years ago.
I went back to Southern for a Sixth Year Degree, and here I am a few years later back in school gain, this time at the University of Bridgeport, for another sixth year degree and certification as a principal.
Workplace
I taught for eight years in New Haven. It's always an adventure. I recently transferred to Derby to be closer to home. I really enjoy it. I still seem to have a way with all of the "more challenging kids"! They follow me!
