Heather's Story

Life I was born in Montreal, Que. Stayed there till I was 12, then moved to Hillsburgh, Ont. Lived there for 3 years, then parents divorced very badly, and I moved to Burnaby, BC. Got into a lot of trouble and lived on skid row in Vancouver for a couple of years. Hooked up with Rob. We moved to Calgary for a while, then up to Hinton, AB. Left there and worked our way all the way to Shelburne, NS. Lived there for a couple of years. Got pregnant with my first child, Sylvie. Just as that happened, the Fisheries cut catch quotas drastically, forcing practically the whole town I lived in to go on UIC/welfare. The province paid for me to go back to BC, be...Expand for more
cause I was pregnant. Rob was to follow a bit later. Got back to BC, moved in with mom for a bit, found out baby had problems. She was born in June,1993 with a genetic defect. The next 10 months were a blur of surgeries and hospital stays. She died May 1994 of post-op complications. Rob and I limped along for a couple of years, but broke up in 1996. I met Larry in 1995, we fell in love immediately, but were in relationships. When Rob and I broke up, he had just broken up with his girl, and we hooked up. In 2002, we decided to have a child. We got lucky right away and had our daughter Cydney in March 2003. We now live in Delta, and life is great. :)
