Heather's Story
Life
After high school, I moved to Ottawa and enjoyed living in a new city on my own to the fullest.I met my husband and had great job at a spa as an esthetician and make-up artist. My husband began training as an air traffic contoller which eventually brought us to Toronto, for good, after a short stint in North Bay. As we were so close to my family in Kitchener, we decided to live here and commute.We purchased a home near the aud which we are in the slow and painful process of renovating.We have three kids, 6,4 and six months old. I now do esthetics in my home part-time and provide full-time daycare to two families in my home.
Workplace
I left Kitchener and moved to Ottawa one year after high school.I initially took a job at Avis Car Rentals at the Ottawa Airport. I then had an opportunity at TD bank and decided then that I hated everything about ban...Expand for more
ks. I finally decided to get into the beauty field as an esthetician and make-up artist and was lucky enough to find a great job at an upscale salon and meet some amazing people. As Ottawa has such an international population, my clientele was very diverse. I worked at the spa for 5 years and would have stayed forever, but my husband's job had us transferred to North Bay and then eventually Toronto. As he was still in training as an air traffic controller and I was very pregnant with my second child, we decided to look in Kitchener for housing and have been here ever since. I do esthetics in my home and now daycare full time since having my third child this year, 2003. If we had of remained in Ottawa, I would probably have stayed working full-time outside my home. I have instead opted for the insane as a full time day care provider for 2 families in my home!
