Heather's Story

Life I am 38 years old now and have two wonderful little boys Joey and Zach and a two year old Kielee. I lost my husband Chris Byford in April, 2003 both of his lungs collapsed he was only 29 and we where married 3 years. I work at Walmart in porter,TX I did get my associates in graphic design. I often find myself tracing my path back to my youth, and my life in La Porte. I remember all of you so fondly, and miss you all alot. I owe all of you that I had the honor of being friends with a huge apology I took my friendships for granted and lost contact with you all. I am so Sorry. I have regretted that loss alot in my life. So what happened to me really, I will let you know. Contrary to popular belief I did not drop out of school get pregnant with a black mans baby and run away in his fancy sportscar. So the rumors say. My parents moved me to a new district, I finished school at Dobie High School. Graduated class of 1992. I worked at a BlockBuster Video on fuqua. I did not get preganant until 1993 after I was threw with school. My oldest son Joey is now 16 he will be 17 in September. I was not able to complete my dreams of Joining the Army and going to college on a Gov. Grant. There was no JROTC at Dobie then. I moved out of my parents home before Joey was born, so that I would not be a burden to them. I went into the world a single mother, with a minimum wage job. Yet I survived. I kept my nose above the water and never let myself down. I was never rich, just made it threw by the skin off my teeth. I am proud to say I did not falter to drugs, or alchol. and remained true to myself always. I am lucky in that aspect. I had a son to care for a son I later found to be special, even more special than just being alive. He is a High functioning Autistic, with ADHD and a Physical developmental delay. I would'nt trade him for the world. He is beautiful Palest blonde hair and bright blue eyes, a spray of freckles across his nose. Thats my boy Joey. His father beleive it or not was from La Porte graduated from La Porte High He is about 10 years older than me. Introduced to me by none other than our own Corey Jackson. Thats a story for another time. I moved alot from one Apartment to the next met my Husband in Spring TX. We where married and then came my second son. Zachary "Zach" he was only two about to be three when he lost his dad. He is six now. another beauty darker blonde hair and brown eyes like me. Boy is he something and I thought raiseing Joey was hard. Zachary will be starting fifth grade this year. He is as energetic as Joey and a bullhead if I ever knew one. I new a few. So far no signs of anything like his brother totally opposite. It is amazing how different he is. Very intellegent, he can read at an almost college level. He loves science its all about animals and insects outer space and geography he talks a mile a minute about anything and everything. You know they may be different but I cherish and love them no less than the other. I would say like all children are to their parents, they are a blessing. I live in Conroe area near now. Married No, anything serious not really. Just trying to make my life even better. I have traveled a long way in my life, but I never have forgotton those who meant so much to me in my life. I was never popular picked on alot, even some of those who said we where freinds. Yet I always had those of you that cared for me and kept me from the total depths of depression. I remember those who lived in my Neigborhood Of Fairmont Park, Heather Hahn, The Blues Carolyn, and Shannon, The Bessets Tabitha and Toby, The Baxleys Mellisa and Connie, Robyn Ledbetter, Rachel Hutfless, I will never forget you I can't. Can't forget the boys John Bunch, Tim Short, Craig Bricker, Robert Stump, Thor Armstrong, Kevin Swackhammer there is alot more to say but I am out of space I hope we will be able to reconnect. TTFN School I was not new to La Porte when I started High School. My family moved into Fairmont Park Before I started Grade school. They bought a house on hillridge. 10003 Hillridge. We moved in when there was nothing but cleared land and cement slabs across the street. My first friends where Laney Fontenot who I called Bo and Tiffany Snowden. She was my very first Best Friend. On the other side of us was a little girl named Amber, we where friends just not good ones. She lived a different sort of life. Where mine was simple, she was in Ballet and dance, she was entered into all kinds of kids paegeants. We played together sometimes but we did not have much in common. I started school at Baker Elementary/Junior High. The school was shared because Reid nor Rizz...Expand for more
uto Elementary where built yet. I went to Baker Threw 2 nd grade. Then moved to Reid Elementary for the rest. Soon it came that Tiffany had to move. We did not get to start school together. The only memories I have left are photos from a trip to AstroWorld my dad had taken. My next best friend was Heather Hahn for a little while we where apart of each others life then she moved. I went on to Reid and in fourth or Fifth grade I met my first Boyfriend John Bunch, we where introduced by Tim Short, Red hair and freckles he was in my class, John was not, he was in Junior High at Baker. Tim and John where best friends. They brought out the Tom Boy in me. If I was not with my girl friends I was catching minnows and crayfish in the ditch down the road. Or having an adventure in some field or wooded area with John and Tim. I was Johns Amazon Queen and he was my Conan. It was him that changed my reputation, first kiss, first makeout and eventually first homerun. I know I probably should hate him for that but I can't. He was kind to me never said a mean thing to me ever, he was strong I liked how he was into Martial Arts. It made him even more appealling. We where together and apart so many times until finnaly I just couldn't do it again. It hurt so much everytime we broke up. He wanted one more chance I kinda wish I could go back and try one more time. Well on with my story I soon met two of the most remembered girls in my life, I could write a book about all the things we did together, Carolyn and Shannon Blue my parents called them a bad influence I called them my best friends at that time. They brought out my rebelious nature, boys and smoking, and sneaking out. Shannon introduced me to makeup and big hair she idolized Maddona and looked like her most of the time. Somwhere along the way I lost there friendships, not sure why things seemed to change with them when we hit High School. I saw Carolyn once in 1993 or 94 I was working at Weiners in Deer Park. She seemed withdrawn, and disconnected, oblivious to our past history. I hope she is okay now. Then there was in High school New friends Missi and Malena. Missi and her sister Connie where good kids. They where some of the best friends I had the pleasure of knowing. Missi and I where best friends, I could tell her anything, we where close like that. Malena was my rebelious friend at that time. She also had title of Best in my life. Tabitha and Toby Besset where my JROTC friends we had that in common. All of these girls have influenced me in my life treated me with kindness made my school life easy to bare as well as troubles at home. Those of you that where closest to me know what I am talking about. You will be glad to know that since then me and my father have buried the hatchet. Thanks for being there for me. I cannot forget the guys now. Boyfriends like Craig Bricker, Robert Stump, James Hartsell, Thor Armstrong. You also had influences on my life that shaped who I am today. I have many friends to remember from school but I do not have the room left to list it in my profile. I was picked on and made fun of by many, who did not understand that a child is a product of their home life. Bad homelife sad child. Thank God for friends. LOL College Well lets see college is a different way of life definately. I am in college in The North Harris Montgomery Community College District. I have been in school since after my husband died. 2003 I have been in school at three of the many sister colleges in the district, I go where I need to to finish more quickly. This semester will be over in May 2006 and I have a full schedule on three campuses. Montgomery College, North Harris, and Kingwood. I have changed my goal from certification to Associates degree, I will be Graduating In 2007. Almost there it has been a long trip, but it is all for the best. I know it I have met up with old friends from High School, and new meetings keep coming. Missi and Connie Baxley are a new but old part of my life now, and Joy (Paige) Johnson Has connected to say hello. I noticed a few new members to classmate that I know, they just haven't got there gall up to say Hi. But oh well the best to them. It may very well be that they haven't got there messages yet. For those of you that want to talk to me but don't know what to say. How about Hi for starters. I promise I won't send you an electronic bite. If you remember bullying me in school, still a good starter is Hi or Hello. If I broke your heart for some reason please I am sorry, where all grown up now and I say Hi to you. Obviously someones been viewing my site according to my profile. Just not so many leaving names.
