Heather's Story
I am now a professor of religious studies at the University of Virginia. My area of specialization is American religious history, particularly the late-nineteenth and twentieth centuries. I am also an Episcopal priest. I have hiked the entirety of the Appalachian Trail, taking 15 years to do it in sections. Along with a full-time job and parenting two teens, I am a volunteer tail maintainer of a section of the Applachian Trail in the Shenandoah National Park. ly. Though I played the violin and later the viola, I haven't really touched it in the past few years, but hope to "rehabilitate" soon. I am writing a book about our year at Washington Junior High (1971-1972) and my year at West End Junior High (1972-1973). After West, I went to Peabody Demonstration School/University School of Nashville and graduated high school from there. If any of you have memories of the teachers and principal we had at Washington, I would be happy to hear them. That was a special year for me.
