Hector's Story
My story is a rather complex one...I left college and went to work for the IRS. Needless to say, I found that career rather depressing. So I went back into public accounting. After the snow storm of 1979, I decided to move my family to a warmer climate. We chose the Arizona desert. I worked in Az for a public accounting firm for several years and then moved on to a private company as their comptroller. That position was fun and served my family well. But I still felt unfulfilled in my personal and spiritual life. I began to look for a more meaningful place to use my education and experience. nd was hired there. That was 25 years ago. I love the work and the people in my life at the church and the opportunities that I have had the pleasure to enjoy through my position there. In my personal life, I am still married to my wife of 34 years and we have raised 12 children. We together had two sons and then adopted 10 additional children. Five of my kids are still living at home. Life has been great and I thank God for everyday I have to enjoy His blessings. I often think of the good days I had at Gordon and the great times on the basketball court. My only complaint is that life travels past us far too fast. I wish I could slow it down and have another 25 years to continue to serve God in the life he has given me.
