Hector's Story
Hey there fellow classmates! As the days, months & years go by, we tend to look back on our younger days. Its those memories that take us back recalling the many classmates we came across from grade school to college. When reflecting on my youthful days I realize it was a gift in time. Growing up a kid in the 1970's and a teen in the 1980's were definitely a once in a lifetime experience. I wish I could relive some of those days and see all those familiar faces. Now that its been 36 years since graduating High School in 1988, no doubt many things have changed. Today it may feel a bit strange relating to our younger generation. I remember looking forward to actually seeing and talking to everyone in person. We held our thoughts & experiences over-nite or past a weekend just to share them when we returned to school. Strangely that helped us build memory retention? Only if today's young generation could experience how we grew up only with a house phone back then. We experienced limited instant gratification. e first to see floppy disc computers & digital calculators in the classroom. Today's student have tablets, laptops & smart phones. I didn't see modern tech gadgets both helping us & hurting us at the same time? Those handheld tech devices appear to have become more important today versus pursuing an education & many honest careers. I remember when teachers taught us to study hard and be a positive role model. Such a huge difference with today's teens easily engaging in Instagram, Facebook, Only Fans ect. Hey that's life today with less thought of morals compared to our young days. We live and we learn and keep learning. Life is more fuller when there's a bit of a struggle because you know you've earned what you've got versus getting everything without truly working hard for it. Are there schools still teaching students to count their penny's, save their dollars (crypto or cash) and study hard to succeed in life. I don't agree with all the Activism taught today now pushing hysteria the classroom! In our day, we were taught Civics & not a notion one can be multiple sex's with preferred pronouns. Looking back it feels things were a lot simpler when we were teens.
