Heidi's Story
Hi y'all! It's hard to believe it's been 17 years since I graduated from SAHS... I have a lot of fond memories from those years in Stuttgart... Specifically: eating broetchen and drinking hot cocoa in Mr. Palmer's gym class, being a wrestling manager (mat-maid) & soccer manager, going to our pathetic football games (seriously, did we ever win a single game?), the Dog House, the Shopette, cutting through the chain-link fence behind the football field to go to Groenbuhl, Stuttgarter Hofbrau, Fests, cutting through the vineyards and walking down to Macht's Nicht's corner to catch an S-bahn to go downtown, the Rock Fabrik, the Rock Palast/Palace, Eku's, my multi-colored 1968 VW beetle, Vodka Poppers, trips to Lloret de Mar, Spain, the Zoo trip, working at the PX at RB, Baskin Robbins (remember when they first opened? HEAVEN!)... I could go on and on.
After graduating and doing a pathetically short stint at U of M in Munich, I worked for military banking...Expand for more
for 5 years (my mom got me a job--nepotism!). I worked on 3 different bases as a foreign money teller (back when there were 22 different currencies that we carried...now it's the Euro!). I traveled a bit, made some friends and met my future husband while working overseas. Bryan and I married in Denmark in 1996 and then ETS'd to the States (he got out of the military). We moved to Tennessee and went to college. I got my BS in Nursing (I'm a nurse manager at a local hospital) and my hubby got his JD/MBA and is a lawyer (non-practicing) and financial analyst at a local investment company. We don't have any kids, just 3 cats.
That's about it. That's 17 years. Hard to believe.
My sister, Jennifer, is doing great and is married and has 2 boys. They live in MN. I don't get to visit them nearly enough, but we're still as close as ever. If you're looking for her, let me know and I'll hook you up! :)
