Heidi's Story

I moved to Muskegon from NJ half way thru 6th grade, and became best friends with Judy Klemp, who had moved there from Colorado, and Kathy Stubbart who lived up the street in Glenside. I enjoyed the new environment at Bunker and was really sad to leave when we moved to the Mona Shores school district where I started 9th grade. I would have much preferred going to Muskegon High. Later at MCC I had the benefit of classmates from both backgrounds. It was great to be back together with Bunker friends. her, Mrs. Morency. Mr. Skinner a strict English teacher - but we learned a lot. Mr. Lewis: Geography of the Navy in the Pacific (!) During HS I worked in his corner drugstore in Lakeside. I learned a lot about cooking on his grill, making ice cream deserts, and met a lot of local folks and people off the ships that ran on the Great Lakes. Another memory: going to the HARBOR THEATER to see horror movies, or the Friday night dances at Bunker. fun! Enough for now - but there'll be more to come. I would enjoy hearing from people from that time, since I live abroad, and a litle "home" is endearing. Heidi
