Heidi's Story
I left Seaford High School after freshman year and moved to Wilmington, NC. My family had been transferred to Iran, so we were in Wilmington for my father to gain training in his new job and to take culture and language classes.
After my sophomore year in Wilmington, my parents, I, and my younger brother, Eric, traveled through Europe and Greece for about a month, then flew to Isfahan, Iran.
I attended the American School of Isfahan all of my Junior year and half of my senior year. That December the Revolution had become more violent and there was concern for the safety of Americans. n Egypt. He flew back to Iran while we flew to Switzerland. He left Iran the following February- just before the Shah.
In January '79, I began my final semester of high school at a private boarding school in Connecticut called Cheshire Academy.
My high school diploma was awarded to me by the American School of Isfahan upon my completion of final coursework taken at Cheshire.
In the summer of 1979 my family moved to Wilmington Delaware. That fall I moved to Newark and began attending the University of Delaware.
I participated in an exchange program my senior year of college and attended the Gesampthochschule Kassel, in Kassel, Germany. I then returned to Delaware to complete my degree.
