Hellen's Story
Life
Immediately after High School I left New Orleans and moved to Texas, where later that year I met my husband and we got married in late fall of 1993.We have 2 boys,Travis and Austin. We reside in San Antonio, Texas. My husband and I own and operate our own business. Life for me has taken on a whole different image since I left New Orleans. and since I am still alive I guess it was worth it! I really don't have much to complain about all in all,there isn't much I would do differently if I had it to do over again.
School
Well, I didn't go to our Graduation because of extenuating circumstances but in a way now I wish I would have stuck around to go. I didn't care too much for school then and I didn't care to be in New Orleans, so I took the easy way out and moved out of town to Texas,where I later (6 months only) met and married my husband.We have 2 boys ages 12 and 11,that I home school so we can all be together as family all year long as opposed to them being restricted to seeing their Dad in the Summer and Winter times only .My life after High School took a dramatic turn,but as most of you remember I always had a flare for the dramatic theme in my life.I am a completely different person now then I was in ...Expand for more
High School. I have settled down, I own my own business, I home school my children and I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. So while things are going really well on one side of my life the other is not so well but as always I will just go on about my business like it doesn't even exist.
Workplace
My husband and I inherited the family business,established in 1976 by his father V.E. (Brownie) Brown, in late 1994 after he passed away.My husband and I were currently involved in managing the business during the time of his illness, but we became the primary owners shortly after his death.My business consists of a Traveling Amusement Park or Traveling Carnival.We travel all over the State of Texas for a duration of 11 months a year,the region we reside in is an extremely tropical area.My children especially enjoy the business being that they are never bored because they always have something to do.I know it's not the normal job placement for the background education aspect of my schooling, but it's an honest job and I am very proud to have such an integral part of many memories created by a vast array of families when they frequent our establishment.I mean who doesn't have a memory of going to the carnival??
