Helly's Story
Wow... it seems like such a long time since the high school days! 15 years since graduation, as of this writing.
In a nutshell: I majored in Biochemistry and graduated from UCLA in 1997, earning my commission into the U.S. Army Signal Corps (I know, that's quite a stretch!). I spent my entire active duty time in Germany, finally returning to the States at the end of August 2001... I enjoyed every minute in Germany, and I do miss Europe. :-( ...Expand for more
But it's good to be home.
I got my MS degree in Computer Science at UCSB (yet another stretch), worked as a programmer/analyst for Amgen, and am currently a software engineer with Citrix Online.
While in Santa Barbara, I got married-- most of you might have met him at our 10-year reunion. We have a rambunctious little boy that seems to sap all our time and energy, but we love him to pieces :-)
