H James's Story
Jim works for Polycom and has been involved in the design and integration of innovative electronic systems for more than twenty-five years.
Jim has been published in the ICIA/InfoComm reissue of the Wadsworth classic ¿The Basics of Audio and Visual Systems Design¿, The BICSI AV Design Reference Manual, and was awarded full "Faculty Instructor" status by InfoComm International.
Jim teaches courses nationally regarding the integration of conference technology into meeting environments. He was heavily involved in the development of the PictureTel and Polycom Certified Videoconferencing Engineer testing and certification program, and developed the audio and video curriculum for that program.

usiness, Bark Harbor Consulting. He returned to Polycom in 2002 to take on the role af AV Systems Engineer.
Coming from a military and defense industry background, he has designed data acquisition systems, high-speed cameras, laser radar and smart weapon control and targeting systems. Before his work in the defense industry, Jim toured with a rock-band as sound engineer for a few years. This was after completing a tour of duty in the USAF supporting computers.
Over the years Jim has designed and marketed his own line of audio processing electronics, and has designed and built custom audio processing systems for a number of recording studios, professional musicians and sound reinforcement companies. He is regularly called upon as a consultant in the use and applications of conferencing technology by companies around the world.
