John-Richard's Story
Life
Hi all... I would never have guessed my life path would lead me to where I am today, but I complain about nothing and accept all, for shaping me into who I am right here and now.
When I first set this up, I was teaching at an adult technical college. I was also about to graduate with my bachelor degree and was considering continuing with my masters.
However, at that time, I lived in Idyllwild, CA where I met my significant other, and together, we opened me a business in 2005. What business you may be asking? A coffee shop for all to visit! It was a blast! It remained opened for almost 4 years, before I was forced to close it for many reasons, some of which was about the changes in our economy.
After such an adventure, I moved from Idyllwild, and worked on my Master degree in Psychology. I graduated from Chapman University in 2012. I started working on my doctorate degree, which led me for 6 months to San Francisco, and then back to San Diego. I am working on that now!
School
When it comes to...Expand for more
school, although I graduated from Potomac (Dumfries, VA - Class of 84) and met some really great friends, I still consider myself an alumni of Mira Mesa High School (San Diego, CA - 1980 to 1983). I think if I could do anything again, I would try to treasure the special people I came to know, and take more chances about being honest in how I felt about some of them.
Military
My military days were some of my most life altering ones. Although not all for the best, I am grateful to the many friends that I made and the experiences I shared. Would I change a thing? Probably not.
In The End
I am thankful for the past, and the many wonderful people I met along my life, from Billy Maier and Greg Fuller, to Amy and Chris Mellor, Peter Arning and Cito (both now beyond this world), Darren Parker and his brother David who also moved on, and so many others. I honor you all, and remember every moment as precious. I hope that even one friend might reach out to say hello and know just how special they were to me.
