Herman's Story
Life
Entered the USAF after graduating in June 1964. Antonio Davila and I entered together in the 'BUDDY PROGRAM' and continued throughout basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas. I went to Chanute Airfield in Rantoul, Illinois for aircraft instrument training. Afterwards, I was transferred to Holloman AFB, New Mexico to train on F4C Phantoms, before being sent to Danang, Vietnam for one year. After Vietnam, I was sent to Homestead AFB, Florida. Crisis started in Korea and I was shipped to Kunsan AB, until my return to Homestead AFB for Honorable discharge from the Air Force. I started working for Eastern Airlines Sept. 1969 until the airline closed in March of 1989. Afterwards, I was hired by Cordis Corporation, a medical device company in Miami Lakes, Florida, where I currently reside. Retired from Cordis Corp. (a Johnson & Johnson company), now live in Pembroke Pines, FL. Working part-time at Home Depot in Miramar, FL..
