Hetty 's Story
Life
My husband and I have have been married 50 years. Hans was in the Navy and later became a civilian for the Navy. I taught many students who hated school and fell through the cracks in traditional schools in a school that I founded. It is now a non-profit organization. I recently retired.
We live on a bay and love watching the sunsets. Hurricane Ivan clobbered us in 2004 and our home is finally restored. It looks brand new and we thank God every day for the blessing of a wonderful home.
Our kids are absolutely wonderful. Our eldest is a physician who works at an HIV clinic. Our daughter is a professor's wife. She had to stop working due to a Neurological disease called Dysautonomia. She was a Mechanical Engineer. She has 2 children. Our youngest is a Comptroller of a company, has a wonderful wife, and three boys.

I am very involved with the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge and if you go to PNJ.COM you can find an article on why I am so interested in that organization.
Hans and I attend a wonderful Methodist Church. To this day, I don't know why my Alliance friends cringe at that. This church is a great community of believers who are there for their town, The USA, and the whole world. They believe in reaching all who are hurting and need to know God. They care for the whole person, and I love that.
We are also both very involved in The Navy League. I am a fan of those who serve our country, because I owe my life to the servicemen who rescued me out of concentration camps in Indonesia when I was 6 years old and my parents were Alliance missionaries there.I am indebted to them.
