Hola. I have been living in the Lake Chapala area of Mexico for the past 10 years. Prior to that, I was working for 2 years in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, for an American organization building housing in the townships outside of P.E. (1999-2000). I came to Ajijic, Mexico for a holiday before returning to Victoria, B.C. - and decided to stay! During my 31 years living in Victoria I worked as a pharmacist, realtor, obtained my Masters Degree in Public Administration, worked for 5 years for the provincial government in housing, 5 years as a stockbroker with Richardson Greenshields. In 1987 I took on the job of executive director of Pacifica Housing Advisory Association. We were building and managing rental housing for low and middle income families and physically disabled, plus building cooperatively owned housing projects. I left to continue that as a consultant to several non-profit societies including Pacifica. In the 34 housing projects I was responsible for developing on Vancouver Island, 6 were co-ops and that expertise is why/how I got the 2 year contract in South Africa. I love t...Expand for more
