Hilda's Story
Life
I enlisted in the Army soon after graduation in 75 and was I ever glad to leave Anthony, came back in 86 and was I ever glad to be back in Anthony...go figure. But I came back after having traveled all over the world living in foreign countries and learning other cultures. Sure as hell can't learn that in Anthony.
Update:
It is hard to believe that our graduating class is in our 50s and some of us have lost loves ones throughout the years, I lost my mom 7 years ago and it seems like yesterday. My sons are now both grown, I have been divorced for about 20 years and maybe it is time to think about grtting married again. I have a job I love working with fellow veterans, good pay and good retirement, can't beat that. I plan to retire in about 10 years God willing and I plan to revisit some of the places I was stationed when I was in the Army.
Another Update:
I got a great promotion at work, still working for the Department of Veterans Affairs, I have a boss that is the best boss in the world. I have been very blessed throughout the years...Expand for more
that I have worked for many terrific bosses, some not so great bt that is par for the course. I work for the Mental Health Service and just love what I do. I have a beautiful new granddaughter, she is almost 10 months old and is just a love. I get to spend most weekends with her and her 6 year old brother.
I always wanted to be a soldier when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
My first job was at Farah, where I got paid 3 bucks to do topstitching. What I remember most about it is that I hated it
Update as of 26 Dec 12:
Had an ok holiday my younger son's father in law passed away a week ago . We celebrated more for the grand kids sake than anything else. My son Rudy who is 26 has 3 beautiful children, Alfredo 7, Debbie 2 and Ruby 6 months, they are my heart and I am so fortunate that I get to see them on a daily basis. My wonderful boss retired snd I don't know what I am ending up with, the interim chief would not be o bad if he I'd not micromanage, drives me freaking nuts!
