Holly's Story
Life
After graduating from Oakland Tech in 1972, I got my A.B. from U.C. Berkeley in 1975, with a double major in Political Science and Economics. I then went to law school at Boalt Hall School of Law, U.C. Berkeley, receiving my J.D. in 1978. I married Boalt graduate Lee Cotugno (U. of Minnesota, 1973, U.C. firm in Los Angeles, practicing litigation. I am active in bar and community activities, most recently serving as Deputy Counsel to the Rampart Independent Review Panel and on a bi-partisan advisory committee to the White House on federal judicial appointments. I would love to hear from Chabot, Claremont and Tech classmates! On September 27, 2008, I was sworn in by the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court as the 84th President of the State Bar of California.
