Holly's Story
I went to Northview Elementary from 1964- 1967. Graduated from Lindsay Place in 1971. I lived on Glenbrook Crescent. I completed the Nursing program at Vanier. College CEGEP in 1974
After working at the Montreal General Hospital for 1 year, I joined one of my nursing classmates in Calgary. My brother, Ian, who graduated from LPHS in 1975,
moved to Calgary 2 years later.
I have been working mostly full time, in hospitals since graduating. I did take" a break" to do occupational health nursing in "the oil patch" and a gold mine in the NW territories.It was a wonderful and unique experience. y breaking my arm. I am hoping to be able to return to nursing, in some capacity when I am able.After being off on disability for 15 months, I was placed in a "desk position" at the Foothills Medical Centre. I am a Transition Services Coordinator which involves coordinating Home Care services for patients on discharge. I also arrange long term care placement from from acute care into the community. This year (2013), I celebrated 39 years since graduating from the nursing program at Vanier College GEGEP. It really is hard to believe. I am still working full-time with no retirement in site!!
My parents left Pointe Claire in 1979 when my father retired. I have not been back since 1986.
I was very quiet and high school but would love to hear from anyone who remembers me.
