Hope's Story
School
Leckie Elementary: I was a tomboy back in the day in that I loved to play all sports (kickball was my favorite). I loved Ms. Davis during 2nd grade and Mrs. McIntoshe (not sure about that spelling) was very encouraging to me in the 6th grade. I had a two-faced friend (I use the word friend lightly) named Monique Hawkins. I hung with a click who tolerated me (I love you all for including me: Kimberly Russell, Deidre Hall, Latonya ?) at the Wingate Towers on MLK Jr.
Francis Jr. High: I had a crush on Sergio and told him about it! It was all about Izod and the Red...Expand for more
skins back then. I played on the basketball team and tried out for dance team. I remember enjoying Chemistry with Mr. Fletcher (it's a little fuzzy) and kicking ball over fence into resevoir behind school (spoiled P.E. that day).
Dunbar Jr. High: I only attended during the tenth grade. I started out in the Electronics program there but I was not focused or disiplined enough to complete it.
Workplace
My first job ever was during the summer of 1983 in Washington, DC. I worked in the Summer Job Program as a tutor for Summer Elementary school students and aid to teachers.
