Howard's Story
To paraphrase the Dead, ¿What a long strange trip it¿s been!¿ Currently I am widowed since last December after thirty-six years of marriage. Personally my leukemia has stayed in check and at least from the outside I appear to be the picture of health.
Glad to be away from Michigan (left in 86) and the rust belt. When I left Webberville I thought things could not get any worse for our state but it seems to have found a way. In my travels it seems to me the rust belt has crept out to Kansas City and Topeka in the last six years. To be life begins in Denver and if that was the East coast I couldn¿t be happier. SORRY natives but I visited Colorado in 64 and fell in love.
I got to Portland my home in 68 and was deeply in love. I only wish I had moved out of East Lansing in 72 to do law school here instead of staying in Michigan until 86.

a coast that the Great Lakes would be envious of. The Sports Car Club of America takes almost all of my time. I have been elected to the board of directors for the last six years and am termed out at the end of the year. The club has allowed me to race tracks all over the country and have many friends in all corners of this country.
Still living on the outskirts of town on a large lot with two cherry trees, a forty foot pine and a hundred plus feet of laurel hedge not to mention twenty five rose bushes.
Technically I am retired with three part time jobs. From September to June I work at the community collage four miles from home without getting on I-5. The other two jobs are at Portland International raceway and the professional school there. Yes I do miss the Midwest but the national Run-Offs were eleven years at Mid-Ohio and this year I will be at Road America in Elkhart Lake WI. After nine or ten days at this event I get my fill of the Midwest. Hehehehehe
