Workplace
During college I cooped and began working for Data General Corporation as a systems engineer in Dallas, Texas. After graduation I continued with them and moved to the Carolina district. In 1980 I transferred to Data General's research and development lab in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina where I progressed from systems engineering to software engineering to software engineering management.
In 1990 I accepted the position of software quality engineering director at Lexis-Nexis, and the family moved to the Dayton, Ohio...Expand for more
area. In 1994, two years after becoming senior director of systems architecture for Lexis-Nexis, I accepted the executive vice president position over systems and software development at CheckFree Corporation and moved the family to Dublin, Ohio. At that position's zenith I managed a team of over 550 software professionals across seven different states. In 1998 I moved from a technology focus to a business focus and became senior vice president of payment systems at CheckFree.
I retired in February 2000 to pursue my ambitions to devote my time to helping others through missions in my church, domestic and international mission work, and Habitat for Humanity.
