Marranda (Ian)'s Story
If you remember me, I'm amazed. I was the short, weird kid always hiding in the back of the room wearing hoodies and avoiding the popular crowd. I was always hiding in the library, the drafting lab, or off school grounds. I had anger issues due to bullying, went to the offered anger management class, and did my best to avoid everyone. It's fine though, because things got better.
After graduation, I left BC with an older lover. Landed in Ontario. Got in touch with my Biological Father. Tried to find religion in several places. I have scars to prove that. I joined a Wiccan Coven that was more like a cult, later left them because of threats to my life and mental well-being. Rescued an abuse victim from the States and got married. That didn't work out, but I gained more personal experience and a daughter out of that.
Later moved back to BC with Joanne Kinney, which ultimately didn't work out. Met the woman I'm now married to. She and I have been happy since.
Pre-Covid Lockdown, around 2017-2018, I started reflecting on my life and started trying to find myself. I didn't feel quite right as a person. I wasn't Depressed per-say, but I wasn't quite happy with myself. I started looking at the Rainbow that is the LGBTQ community. I KNEW all my life I wasn't entirely straight. Anyone that called me Gay in high-school wasn't too far off the mark. Through the pandemic times when I got laid off for 7 months, all my research yielded the following:
1: I'm Pansexual. Always have been. For those who don't know, it means I'm attracted to a person's Pers...Expand for more
onality and Soul 1st. Outward Gender plays little in this.
2: I'm Polyamorous. I love my wife, but that doesn't mean I can't have a romantic connection with someone else. I just haven't found that someone yet.
3: I'm Transgender Female. Where I once thought I was Gender Fluid and I could flip between male and female thoughts and expression, I found that to be untrue. I've always been a girl. In my soul, I've always been this way. In school, I was always hiding a love for girly style and expression under a mask of geeky masculinity. I liked long nails, longer hair, brighter colors, hated getting changed in front of guys. I hated sports. I loved cooking and sewing. Now I get to express all that.
It's funny. A little while back, I thanked my mom for how she raised me. She raised me with cooking, cleaning, household budgeting and finances, knowing when to leave a bad situation... All stuff she thought to prepare me for an independent life. She thought I should be able to take care of myself because there was no way I was going to find a girl to take care of me. I thanked her for raising me to be a smart, independent, and loving woman. She cried.
