Irene's Story
Life
After years of being an at-home mom (two great children)and being the expert volunteer in everything from baking cupcakes to chairing events and serving on boards, I am working as a Communications Director. After having dropped out of college to put my former husband through school, I went back to school as an adult graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a communications degree.
Life is wonderful.
UPDATE: 1/2008
Life is still wonderful. My family has increased with 2 fantastic most perfect grandchildren. (I am sure mine are the most beautiful in the world. LOL) and my daughter is now engaged. Still living in Rhode Island and not liking the long cold winters. But I love living 5 minutes from the river and bay. I love the smell of the ocean on a breezy day in the summer. I also love all the history of Providence and all it's historic links to Savannah.
I would love to hear from any of my SHS classmates!
Health and joy to all.

ng of retirement yet. I love working and I love volunteering.
UPDATE: 8/2012
Daughter now has two children. Both boys--one two year old and one that is now 3 months old. Still working and having fun. Now that my 92 year old mother is living with me, I am not doing as much traveling right now. Still spending lots of time gardening, reading, listening to music and doing a tiny bit of art. Of course there are weekly family dinners and time spent with friends. I would say that life has been good to me and my family.

Loving life! My family has expanded. My sons now has 4 children with one going to college in the fall. My daughter & her husband have 2 boys--8 and 5. My son runs his own business--the Hot Club which was features in the film "something about Mary." My daughter works for the RI Health Department in Emergency Management. My news is that I am officially retired. Yet, I still do small fundraisers and events. I guess years of planning for these things brings an expertise that is coveted by others. LOL
Love my Savannah Days. they have been a big part of who I am.
