Iris's Story
I finally retired. I had great plans to retire early. First I was going to retire at 55. No way I could do that but it was fun to think about. Then I was going to retire when I had 30 years....that came at the wrong time also. Finally on October 31st I retired with 33 years service with IBM/Lenovo. It has been an adjustment, no alarm clock, no leaving for work in the dark, no stress...maybe not a bad adjustment. I took a week back in Virginia w...Expand for more
ith family to decompress and get my bearings. I am nowt back in North Carolina. I have some work to do here getting my house ready to go on the market in the Spring. Once I get the house sold I will be moving back to Christiansburg. A lot of adjustments quickly but I am looking forward to the changes. I miss having family around and look forward to getting back in the same state. It has been a long and rewarding career but I am ready to move on.
