Iris's Story

Life My brothers Rick Gallion and John Gallion both graduated from PHS (after I did) I did attend a lot of different schools, however, I taught at 4 of the schools listed, just does not show as working for some reason. I have a picture posted under Lakeside School to see if any one recognizes these kids. Rick Gallion (PHS class of 65), Jim and John Harmon (PHS class of 62) are the only ones that I have names for. I Woke up one day and said, "what is this, how did this happen"? How did I get to be old enough to be eligible for Social Security?? Isn't that for Old People?? I am here to tell you, 62 is not old!!!! I now am the step-mother of a 16 yr old boy, now that will either keep you young or age you faster. It has made me realize my energy level decreased and the body does not move as fast. Don't know when this happened to me either. Life does come at you fast!! While I was away from Classmates, several people tried to get in touch with me. In hopes of making connection with them. Do not know who they were, as all that information has been deleted. I have been living in Florida since 1996. Enjoy the winters without Snow, I must say. Lived in Denver from 1974 to 1976. Taught at Osborne, Ks for 2 years. Loved it there. ts. My son, John Walkinshaw was in High School when I was teaching Home Economics. That was fun, but he did not enroll in my class for some reason. Katrina was in 1st and 2nd grade there. Moved to Denver again in 1976 and lived there until 1992. Moved to Arkansas for 2 years, then back to Pittsburg till 1996. Was in Pittsburg the summer of 1993 for graduate school. Had dropped the Murray name by then, went back to Walkinshaw name. I spend my time doing Genealogy research. Getting my father's, Virgil Gallion, and my mother's Family Tree on line. I have managed to get to most of the PHS 1962 class re-unions. Keep up with Frontenac classmates when I go back. Would love to hear from former students. There are some whose names I actually remember. However, I recall faces more than names. When I lived in Arkansas, I was an Adolescent Intervention Specialist for the county I lived in. That was one great job, poor pay, but enjoyed the work. Have been wanting to do Subsitute teaching here, but my health has not permitted me to work this last year. My daughter Katrina has been in Germany now for about 5 years, she and her husband work there. My son John is still in the Denver area, he is a police officer. Very proud of both of them.
