Iris Loyd's Story
My Story..
My story started at the Bluff..and hasn't moved far from there. I married my high school sweetheart Allen Cooper 4 months before graduation in 1976. We have been very happily married for 36 years. We have 2 children, Christopher and Jennifer. We are blessed with 5 grandchildren..3 girls and 2 boys. My parents and all brothers and sisters still live in the Bluff..I am the only stray..moved 15 minutes away..to Henderson.
I was a stay home mom til my kids started high school, then I went to work at Maytag in Jackson for about 3 years, then went to work at Prime Care Medical Center in Henderson, and worked there for about 10 years, until I became disabled by Menieres' disease. After 10 long years of illness, hospitals, surgeries..I am now doing well most days. I spend my time enjoying life with Allen and our families..and trying to claim the title of "Best Nana in the World"..lol. We have had many wonderful pets over the years, and now have 2 sweet doggie girls that share our lives. ...Expand for more
My cousin Kendra moved here from N.C. in 2010 after high school, and now lives with us. She is a wonderful addition to our lives.
I try to stay in touch with a lot of our classmates from BBHS, and enjoy telling my grandchildren tales from our years at the Bluff. The way schools are now..we just didn't know that we had it made back then. I hope to see you all very soon. We need a reunion before we are too old to remember each others names. The old school looks the same..but it will never be OUR BBHS again. We had some great times, and some bad ones there..but I am forever grateful for the experiences we shared. Great friends never forget each other..I know I will never forget all the friends I had at the Bluff !
I always wanted to be a wife and mother when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were so very RIGHT !.
Kids don't come with instruction books..you learn as you go, and pray you did the best job you could to put them on the right path.
