Irl's Story

Life I have a pretty low-key lifestyle. I like to go to the occasional night club, (Luna/Bar Italia, Pepper Lounge, Delmar Lounge, Jimmy's on the Park, Fitz's, etc), see local bands play, or just chill out at my favorite coffee shop, The Grind, and read a good book. I try and work out 3-5 times a week to maintain my girlish figure and to justify my Chuck-A-Burger chocolate malt addiction. If anybody want's to say hello or grab a malt sometime leave me a message :) I'd love to hear from you and catch up. School Hmm...my high school crush was Lisa Buchanon, but she dumped me because I didn't have a clue about myself, how to treat a woman, or where I was going in life. Talk about bad timing! I think my favorite teacher was Mr. Scott. The man had a total passion for History and truly loved to teach. Although, Mrs. Tonkinson was pretty damn hot! There is no way I could list out all the funniest, happiest, or craziest times I had in high school. I think everyday was fun for me in one way or another. And honestly, there's no reason for me to do it all over again. I couldn't top the fun I had back then. College Wow, college was a mess. I started out at Florissant Valley and did okay. Then I went to Mizzou and pretty much flunked out. My father, my best friend, and a couple very close acquaintances died from various causes in the year preceding and during my time at Mizzou. It seemed every time I started to get my life back together another death hit me square in the face. It took me about a year after flunking out of Mizzou to realize I was just depressed. I had always been the class clown, happy go lucky, and smart-ass. I had no clue about what depression was, or how it sapped my passion for life and the peopl...Expand for more
e I loved. Anyway, I said f'you to the pity party. I picked myself back up, enrolled full-time+, into Lindenwood University. I changed my major to Philosophy/Theology and aced everything. I had an insatiable passion for Philosophy, Theology, Psychology, Literature, and a touch of History even. I loved staying up to 3:00 or 4:00am reading, taking notes, and studying. Of course I slept through all my classes, but my teachers knew I would ace the tests anyway, so they just asked me to sit in the back. My professors didn't want the whole class to see me sleeping. During my time at Lindenwood I duel enrolled at St. Louis University. I only took Latin at SLU. I still need to finish up Latin for my degree. My god it's tough. I've been out of school for quite a while now, but I haven't given up on finishing my degree. I'm just reluctant to go back because I know Latin is waiting for me. But I'll do it!! Workplace I work in the Optical Engineering department for a telecom company named LightCore. I pretty much goof off all day....I mean build fiber optic networks. I do all the installation drawings showing our contractors how to connect all the equipment, do system block diagrams showing the overall layout of our systems and how they interconnect, and build all our networks into a provisioning database called MetaSolv. Exciting eh? It's a great company to work for and all the guys in my department, except for Joe, are pretty hard workers that are just as big, if not bigger, smart-asses than me :) I know it's hard to believe. We have fun and I enjoy my job. I still plan on retiring into a college/university setting though. I really want to get my Doctorate in Philosophy and mess with kids heads in my later years.
