Isabell's Story
Life
After graduation I went to work for Western Electric. I married Bill Layer, my high school sweetheart in 1954. We had three children, one boy and two girls. We lived in Brooklyn until 1963 then moved to North Massapequa, Long Island. I stayed home and raised my children until the youngest was in first grade in 1969. Then I went to work for the local school district, then Nassau County Probation Department. Bill was a NYC Firefighter. We relocated to Pembroke Pines in 1983. worked at Miramar City Hall, hospital, Broward County, a psychologist and finally found my niche at Nova Southeastern University. There I did computer graphics for the Graduate School of Business. I retired in 1999 from NSU. Bill and I did alot of travelling after he retired from the Broward County School Board in 1997 until Bill passed away in December 2001. I am getting along fine. Stay busy, still travel, play cards, and am active in my community and church. Have alot of friends down here in Florida and life is good.
