John's Story
Before our 50th is out, and appreciating John Grotto's report among others, thought it would be fun to report that Sr. Tilberta would be pleased to know I did not end up in prison. (At least I hope/think she would.....but looking back, I'm not sure.)
After a year at Fenwick, ended up boarding at Marmion for high school (with Jim Kelly fresh out of St. Pet's as swim coach). The details are best forgotten, but its safe to say, I had no future in the Army? College at Holy Cross and law school at Santa Clara, met my wonderful wife Marchal through a mutual friend at Stanford. We were married in 1975 in Palo Alto and moved in early 1977 to Washington (for a year or so before, I promised, we'd go back to PA......didn't happen). Quickly had a girl and then two boys and found ourselves fully engaged in the local ...Expand for more
world. All three eventually went to Vanderbilt....limited imaginations or great fun....and now all, with spouses and five grandkids, live within a couple of miles of us. Great fun babysitting.
Spent nine years with the Secret Service as a lawyer....lots of interesting times and travel. Then joined the airline trade association and did a bunch of "stuff" before retiring in early 2011.....more interesting times there
and lots of travel! Since then, we've been lucky enough to see a great bit of the world between babysitting assignments, and plan to continue doing so until we decide to just buy a Winnebago and drive 20 miles below the limit in two or three lanes, into the sunset.
Hope all is well with all and have a great time for the next 50.....I'll avoid any Medicare jokes, as should we all.
