Jack's Story
Life
My Spouse
I married the girl I took to Homecoming our senior year (Lynn Yonke) in 1968. We met way back in grade school but didn't go together until that year.
My Pets
Only have the one cat now, a white and brown shorthair named Bugs. Her father was a Manx and when he was a kitten he looked like a rabbit, so he got the name Bugs; she was the only one of his daughters with the same coloring, so she was Baby Bugs. Bugs passed away in July 2004 -- we now have a beautiful black and wite kitty named Helen who was born on my birthday that year. Helen has pickep up where Bugs left off and is doing a great job keeping the house free of elephants.
Before moving to Florida, we had as many as 3 dogs and 4 cats at once. Seems like we always had a house full.
My Kids
Chris is career Army, married a sweet 'Bama belle, and ...Expand for more
has 3 children of his own: Christopher Jay Junior is 19 and a student at USF, Amanda Lynn is 15 and Rebecca Annabelle is 8.
Chad works for the largest home builder in Montgomery, Al and married another 'Bama belle. They have three sons, Jackson McLeod - 5, Parker Jayce - 3, and Jefferson McLain - 1 1/2.
My Job
It was a typical corporate consulting position, not exciting, but it paid the bills. I got downsized in June of 2001
I invested in The Drop Shop, a skydiving gear manufacturing & retailing company based in Sebastian, Florida and ran that until the nasty hurricane season of 2004; we didn't get any physical damage but were unable to do business for almost 4 months. My partner lost everything she owned in Hurricane Jeanne and went back to California, leaving me no choice but to shut down.
So color me retired.
