Mary's Story
Life
Hi! Were here in the suncoast district of the US Postal Service.
My husband and I both work here. We get A lot of vacations
because we work our days off every week and get credit for A day
then we lump them with our vacation days.We are both mailcarriers.
We work with A carrier that just made A large front page picture in
the sports section of the Sarasota paper.His name is John Neider.
He played With the New York Jets when Joe Namath was in the
SuperBowl.He has the superbowl ring and he is getting A knee
replacement now. He has been hobbling around the post office
for years.They had no retirement for the football players back in
that day.He teaches little league at the local school now and
has for 18 years.
We were in Vegas for three days last July.Not crowded and
very hot.But were used to baking down here in our shake and
bake trucks here.We went to Cashiers North Carolina last Oct.
20 thru 30. My husband wanted to see the leaves turn.He is A
native Floridian of 52 years.It was really beautiful.Cashiers is
really expensive,We stayed at A friends place he b...Expand for more
ought many
years ago.There is A really beautiful town not overpriced like
that.Its called Franklin North Carolina.Its A small old fashioned
place thats pretty well preserved.The insurance and taxes are
so much more reasonable than Fla.or lots of places. Our
homeouners insurance keeps going up.We live about 10 miles
from where Hurricane Charlie hit Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte.
It hit Charlotte Harbor Bad. Houses were piles of scrap.Even
brick buildings were wiped out.Tarpes covered roofs.All blue,
It is still not recovered totally.The bigger house we just got has
roll down shutters.I made sure of that.I got tired of stressing
over getting ply wood for the windows.Theres been A huge rash of
shutters being sold.The prices are terrible.
I had to have my dog put to sleep a month ago.
It was so sad.I got A new one,He is Lab and Border Collie.
He looks like A black bear.He is so cute.A lot of grooming and
flea control! If anybody reads this please write me A note I
would love to hear from some other aging people I used to know!
