Jack's Story
After life at H.H.S. i went to work for an automobile
dealer in ATL. delivering parts. At night i attended
Ga. State U. I also played in a r&r/soul band on weekends. During my professional music career i was asked to play with the Tams & the Shirelles.
Turned them both down.
After grad. until i got married , i shared apartments
with : Tex Anderson, Butch O'Hare , Leslie Waites,
Sandy Talton , & Steve Wisenbaker.(not all at the same time) All 65 grads. We had a great time together and never had a falling out. In 66 i tried to
join the Marines , but they would not take me due to my history of asthma.
I met my wife Marion in may of 69 and we were married in nov. of 69. It was truely love at first sight for both of us. I continued to go to school but quit playing music. when our 1st son , Brian , was born in 72 I took some time off from school. Big mistake, I
never went back. Only lacked a few hrs. to grad.
In 71 I had worked my way up to the position of parts manager at Ed Voyles Olds near Greenbriar
shopping center. In 74 i took the same job at Central Chevy in Buckhead. In 75 our 2nd son , Brad , was
born. when Central Chevy sold out in 77 i took the
p.m. job at an Olds dealer in Chattanooga....Expand for more
In 82 i took the p.m. job at a CHEVY dealer in Jackson Ms.
During that time my sons became involved in scouting and i became a scout master. I am proud to say that both sons earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
In 94 i took a p.m. job at a Chevy store in Phoenix Az. WE left our 2 sons behind at Miss. State U. where they both earned thier degrees and met thier wives.
In 03 my old boss in Jackson asked me to come back. Since our 2 sons and now 2 grandsons were there, I could not say no. Since then, we have been blessed with our 3rd grandson and in Apr of 08 our 1st grand daughter. In oct. of 07 our 1st grandson
became an angel at the age of 7.
The job i took many years ago delivering parts, became a career that has been very good to me and my family. I have won countless trips over the years from G.m. Parts. I and my wife (my best friend and the love of my life) for almost 40 yrs. have traveled all over the world. God has been good to the Mckee's.
I cherish my memories of Hapeville and H.H.S. In particular band and football. But most of all i cherish the special friends that i made there.
The teachers that i am most grateful to are :
Miss Wells , Mrs. Douglas , coach Daniels , and
Mr. Miller.
