Jack's Story
Jack is from Corsicana, Texas. He was widowed from his wife of 62 years, the former Velma Jane Conklin of Ellendale, MN, in Aug., 2015. His schools include Corsicana High School, Corsicana Junior High School, Austin Elementary School, Sam Houston Elementary School and the University of Texas at Austin. He works(ed) at U. S. Geological Survey where he published more than 50 books and scientific papers on the quality and quantity of surface and ground waters in Texas. Before his retirement in 1989, he served as Associate Chief of the Texas District, U. S. Geological Survey.

After retirement he spent several years as a middle school and high school volleyball referee. Since the death of the love of his life, Velma Jane , Jack spends most of his time enjoying fellowship with his family (daughter, son, six grandchildren, one great grandchild all of Austin, TX. and attending Riverbend Church.
