Jack's Story

I was a 1965 Grad who is on Face Book and got married in July of 1966 after Karen (Hartzell) graduated. We became parents to our daughter on Memorial Day 1967, Ten months after we got married if anyone is counting, not that it would have been any big deal if it would have been sooner. I worked as carpenter, an auto mechanic, a tile setters helper and a steel worker before settling in at Mack Trucks working many different jobs and hating them all for the next 35 yrs. but the pay was good so I put up with hating going to work every day. I retired from Mack in 2002 and started driving a school van for Spec. Needs Children and found out it is actually possible to like your job. When we moved to NC in 2006 I became a Teachers Assistant but due to budget cut I lost that job and now beleive it or not I'm a Substitute Teacher and love every minute of it, boy would I love to throw that in the face of some of my old teachers who said I wouldn't amount to anything, although I'm still amazed by it myself, I feel like the Fonz must have w...Expand for more
hen they let him teach Auto Mech. on Happy Days. In April 1971 we were blessed with a son and my parents got their wish for my child to do to me what I did to them, You know the grey hair and all. Over the years our children gave us 5 Grandaughters and 3 Grandsons now ranging in age from 2yrs. to 19 yrs. and our Grandaughter gave us our first Great Grandson in Nov. 2007. Then another in 2011 and another is due in March 2012. I no longer raise pigeons but still look fondly upon them when ever I watch a flock of wild or domestic birds, I guess it's their freedom in flight that captures me. I have ranged in weight from 165 lbs. to 325 lbs. and opted for weight loss surgery and now stay at about 230 lbs. I quit my 2 1/2 pack a day smoking habit about 17 yrs. ago but still have still have compassion for those still trying since I know how hard it is to quit. Well that's the Readers Digest version of what I have been up to. I'm sure it surprized some and bored others to tears, but that's me in a nut shell unenhanced.

Hey Karen Hartzell Stuber Maybe you want to save this one.
Well I'm done with Hallmark until they make this right and get a set of balls against these self proclaimed Christians that don't follow the actual teachings of Christ. Goodbye Hallmark, I'll rent the DVD rather than watch
