Jack's Story
I started working at Sears Automotive In September 1987 sweeping floors I worked there till December of 2001 and was the Asst. Manager. I had woked every job that the Auto Center offered but the Manager. Fist problem was they didn't pay enough for me to stay. Second After about 14 years Sears bored me I had out grown them and had to move on. I started working for the City of Waterbury on December 24th. 2001 in the Centeral Vehicle Department. Diesel trucks and still work on small Vehicles and machines as well. I Took the test for Shop Foreman but after being Acting Foreman for a year I turned it down Due to hours that I would have to work second shift instead of first shift and the fact they only pay a dollar more to deal with the head ach's. Really wasn't worth it to me. The past 6 years have been fun and challenging. I plan on staying with the city for 25 years. at this point unless sometihg happens to change that.
