Jackee's Story

Life Alot has happened since my last profile update. I've been at a new job that I love for over three years now. I'm a banquet server at our local country club. Our daughter got married and we became proud grandparents 4 years ago (A grandson) and we now have a grandaughter as of last May 5th. Our grandson is so wonderful and so much fun. He used to have his own names for us. His grandpa was "PA PA"(and still is) and for some unknown reason he was calling me "Daa" (Hi Daa! Come here Daa! I love you Daa! Bye Daa!):]Happily, I'm grandma now. He always makes us laugh alot. Our grandaughter is just starting to laugh. She is sooooo cute! Our daughter has type 1 diabetes and with special care and great doctors she has had two healthy babies. Our oldest son (a former graduate of UTI)still is single and is a transmission specialest at a local auto repair shop. Our youngest son was married three years ago and we love our daughter-in-law like one of our own. We also aquired a kitten three years ago. Casper, who is all white with large gold/green eyes now weighs in at 19 pounds and he's not fat. He's just a big cat. My side jobs include doing menu boards using special chalks and markers for three different pizza chain restaurants, or painting seasonal pictures on store front windows. I do paintings on request for people, family and friends. I love to cook and I wrote a book that most likely will never get published. It's an action adventure love story that I felt inspired to write while spending some vacation time (17 days) in Las Vegas eight years ago. Some characters were based on old friends from high school...Expand for more
. Not much more to say about me right now. My husband is employed as a machinest for the Chicago Tribune. He loves fishing, dove hunting, and woodworking and we've been married for 35 fantastic years. I'm sure there will be more to add at a later time. Jackee School I had my first major crush on a boy in third grade. His name was Jack Butler. I had many great teachers who inspired me on some level. Mr. Freeman in 6th grade. He taught me to enjoy reading. My music teacher Mrs. Heimlic. She was my voice teacher. And all the art teachers I had from grade school through 1985. I would have studied harder and taken a more serious interest in my studies throughout my school years. My funniest and happiest and craziest moments were spent with my friends. College I attended the local junior college. My classes consisted of one year of Art and one year of English lit. Workplace My first job was working at Oak Forest hospital as a dietary server. My second job was a cashier in our local convienience store/ deli/ ice cream shop. My next job was working in the deli at our local grocery store and now i'm a banquet server at our local country golf club. I paint from commissions for my side job. I also creat menu boards for several pizza food chains, using special chalks and markers. I also paint backgraund scenery for seasonal plays at our local church. Military I'm proud to say my brother served twenty years as a U S marine. He was in Desert Storm and he is now retired. I always wanted to be a an artist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea idea. As it turns out, they were right.
